Who are the Gluggoats?

Gluggoats are an alien species that originates from a blue planet with rings and 67 moons. The species has migrated to other parts of space because of a giant carnivorous worm that is terrorizing them. Most of them have developed an irrational fear of anything that looks remotely similar to a giant worm. Due to them losing a lot of their members to this predator, they are currently recruiting outsiders to become a part of their species.

Gluggoats are a social species who enjoy the company of others, Comformity is very important to the Glugooats since they are often around others a lot they like to curate their groups with like monded people. and because they dont really do well on their own they sometimes get desperete in avoiding beig seperate from others.

Biology

Anatomy

Gluggoats resemble anthropomorfic goats. They have a long neck, thier bodies are covered in fur, some of them might have glass horns. Thier legs are always black and might have a scaly/leathery texture.

Glugglejug horns

The Gluggle goats' horns is made of glass and works very similarly to gluggle jugs! They are semi-transparent and can be any size. The bigger they are, the more likely they are to be prone to damage. Gluggle horns are not suitable for fighting or defense; instead, they are being used for entertainment. They are sometimes being filled with water so that they can make that funny glug-glug-glug noise when they move their head around or when they are dancing around! Males tend to be the ones to have horns but there is a smell chance that some femaile individuals can alwo have them.

Skirts

All of them have fur that forms a "skirt". This is a very important feature for the species, as not only is it a beauty standard, but it is also used to show some kind of status. For example, some might style their skirt to show that they are a part of a specific group. Those that have a bigger skirt are usually seen as more respected individuals and are worn by outgoing and attention-seeking folks. Not having a skirt is considered to be a taboo; it's like exposing oneself, as it's the equivalent of being naked in public. Damaging the skirt of another with no good reason is very frowned upon.

Diet and nutrition

They are omnivores, they eat mainly fish, bugs small animals and quite a lot of fruits, especially fruits. Most are fruit lovers. The more colorful it is the better it is! Good luck trying to keep your fruit basket safe with these guys around. They are not afraid of trying out new fruit looking foods either so maybe you can fool them into eating a ghost pepper idk.

Social structure

Gluggoats are an herding species. They always stay in grouos and do not like being allone at all. Sometimes a herd might have a leader, the leader in question is usualy the most confident or smartest one one at the moment. This often leadf to some pretending to be super confident or lying about being smarter than they actually are in order to keep the role of herd leader, this also means that the most charismatic individuals tend to be the ones capable of holding the position of leader for a very long time.

Some groups might choose a specific individual to have the burden of being the leader 24/7 so that they dont have to deal with this issue, this works but only if the group remains a sertain size, bigger groups are too stressful to mmanage so in these cases muiltiple leaders can be choosen.

Technology

Gluggoats' societies didnt use any kind of techology prior to optaining the power orb. Although they have gained the ability to travel across space and possibly more, most Gluggoats still arnt very used to tech in general, so you can imagine what kind of problems this can bring if they where to interact with it.

Gluggoats dont wear clothes because their coats are too thick for it, but they do ocasionally wear headbands of head accesoires.

Gluggoats are thought to have originated from cold mountainous regions, but they have migrated far away from the cold and rigid climates to find someplace more interesting where they could thrive. They have explored their homeworld far and wide and have eventually discovered lush jungles, which they have made their new home. The gluggoats enjoyed partying and playing around for quite some time; it was basically their perfect safe haven until a giant carnivorous worm native to the jungle started hunting them and eating them whole, one by one...

The gluggoats were completely helpless as their population rapidly shrank. When it felt like there was no more hope, a mysterious being came from the skies and gifted them a white orb, which contained great power. The gluggoats used this orb to escape their homeworld to hopefully establish a new home somewhere without man-eating giant worms...

History

These guys are from a dream I had back in 2021.
There where some that had a cat head but i dont really know what to do with that. Most of the info is from the general beghavior and observation of the events of the dream.

Judging by the events in my dream, I think this species was kind of a manifestation of how I felt about closed species groups since at the time I was joining tons of species Discord servers, but I felt pretty miserable in almost all of them to the point I got mentally and emotionally burnt out from that.
