The Jewel dragons are also sometimes known as the terraformers. The main role of the species seems to be all about reshaping the terrain of the world around them.

This is the basic anatomy of jewel dragons, but their bodytypes vary heavvly depending on the individual.
Jewel dragons have a thin layer of white glowy sparkly fur, not having sparkly fur is usually a sing of low magic or sickness. Their abdomen and tail are covered in plates of scales instead of fur, and it has the same color as their dominant gem type. The Jewel dragon's tails serves as energy storage, powerful jewel dragons tend to use more magic so they have bigger tails. Jewel dragons have antennae which they use to "smell" magic around.
While not a nessesairy trait, jewel dragons can have wigns! Wings can be featherd or webbed.

Jewel dragons grow from transparent crystal eggs, often called pearls. It's not exactly known where those pearls come from or how they are made. After hatching from their egg, they will start exploring the world. Depending on which type of stone they are, they will imprint on the mineral content of it which is how Jewel dragons get a jemtyupe assinged to them. Young Jewel dragons will often stay by the side of other creatures they find.
The teeth of jewel dragons are powerful enough to break through any kind of mineral. As food, they consume a wide variety of minerals and gemstones; however, certain jewel dragon subtypes are pickier about the minerals they consume. A jewel dragon can also consume geodes, rocks, pebbles, and sand, but these latter three items are typically avoided due to the potential impurities they may contain. A jewel dragon will typically only choose to consume these items if they are left with no other options.
Jewel dragons strictly consume minerals and are unable to consume any organic food. If they were to eat organic material it can make them very ill.

Jewel dragons don't really age from time, instead it is caused by using magic. Using magic causes their cores to "fade away" so the more magic they use the more tired they will become. This process only happens outside the ambrosian realms because the high concentration of magic in their native realms replenishes the magic they consume from using their powers.
When Jewel dragons run out of too much energy they can choose to turn into stone, this "hibernation" processes allows them to preserve themselves, and they can also passively recover their strength by absorbing energy from the surroundings, but depending on how much energy is present within the area they chose to hibernate in, it can take a really long time before they can wake up again.
Jewel dragons who are under major psychological strain for too long and who lose mental stability are at risk of becoming corrupted, when this happens they can lose control of their physical form which they can transform into extremely dangerous volatile beings who are capable of causing great destruction. Luckily, Jewel dragons rarely get to this point as they are naturally a very content species regardless of the situation they face. When a Jewel dragon has fallen into corruption, it is often a sign that something devastating has/is going to happen.
Jewel dragons dont really wear any clothing, They find it uneccesairy and most are too proud of their physical appearance to hide it behind pieces of clothing. Jewel dragons use their own fur to style themselves instead.

Jewel dragons can be found on a lot of places in the universe, but one of the most well known habitat of them is a planet named SomniCrysta. It was named as such because the planet looked like a dream world made out of crystal. The planet of SomnuCrysta is a very bright and colorful magical planet with diverse biomes and crystal mountains, one of its notable traits are its crystal rings and a very large crater on its surface.
SomniCrysta has a lot of extreme terran and mountains, the planet has seasons just like most other planets.
A long long time ago there was a major cosmic event that happend, not much is known about it, but in the aftermath of the event many huge chunks of debrits containing a very powerfull minaral have been scatterd across the universe. Some landed on planets while some others ary stil flyiong across space till this day. Those that did land on planets have completely transformed all of the minerals and possible lifeforms on these planets by infusing them with the magical element.
Scientist still have no idea weather some of the fragments where already sen,tient or if the jewel dragons evolved from the organisms who have been transformed by the element.
