Welcome to the species directory! This place was made to store species from my headworld and from muiltiple projects i have created over the years. I keep making species and i keep forgetting about them because i dont have a convinient way to store and organize their information. But now with neocities i can create a website specifically for this task!

Worldbuilding, speculative biology and character design are some of my main interests which is why i have so many species...

Prupose: Having somewhere to store all information about my alien species so i don't forget anything important for storytelling and also to potentially share my ideas with people.

Priority: To provide information about my species

Primary goal: Education and personal documentation...

The questions below where not asked by anyone at all. I just gatherd a couple things i thought people might have questions on.

1. What is the status of these species? Closed? Open? semi closed/open?

Answer

All the species on this website are created and owned by me, but they don't operate under the traditional species system as seen in species communities. All species on here are simply personal species. That means they were not made with the intention to create a community or to sell adoptables. They were just made for personal worldbuilding projects that became so ambitious that storing them on Neocities allows me to manage them properly. I don't actually talk about this website on any of my socials, so if you happen to find this site somehow, then congratulations for finding this treasure trove of worldbuilding info!

2. Will you ever turn these into a closed species or arpg project?

Answer

Likely not. The whole point of closed species or ARPG is to create a community, and I'm not the type to be able to manage large social communities. I do not have the mental capacity to manage and monitor a community; as of right now I barely even engage with other people online, so nah.

3. Can i make one too?

6. Who is that humanoid kid with the messy hair?

Answer

His name is Silver, he is the unnoficial mascot of this website. It was surprisingly hard to design a mascot so intead i just used him because hes easy to draw and only has three colors. If you want to know more about him and his overconvoluted history then click here

7. Whats with the inconsistent ui/ux web design?

Answer

I'm working on all the pages all at once whenever I feel like it. This extremely flexible multitasking allows me to iterate on the designs to see what works best. Each species has their own unique worldbuilding needs that differ from others, so I can recycle assets, modify them for another page, and in turn create new code snippets that can help complete the rest. I will try to keep a somewhat consistent experience across pages to make the website comfortable to browse on.

8. Whats with the lackluster web design, lack of decor etc...

Answer

The main goal of this website is to display information, so the presentation of the info is prioritized over decor. That's why there's a lack of general consistency with the icon artwork or why I don't have overwhelming displays of customization. There's also the fact that I want to keep this website mobile-friendly, so by minimizing the amount of objects and CSS to style on the page, it becomes a lot easier to keep consistency on smaller screens.
