Who are the Yulementals?

The Yulementals where a once very powerful civilization of aliens capable of manipulating elemental powers. They ruled over their planet and refined their elemental powers far into the field of science where they were capable of creating new elements. They were very close to leave their home world to escape the cosmos, but unfortunately they got wiped out.

The Yulementals are a very closed off species who are completely withdrawn from the rest of the universe, they are intelligent and love maintaining balance, but they are very scared of the outside world. They are big dreamers and have a deep desire to venture into the stars.

The Yulementals were once a peaceful race of element-wielding aliens who lived in peace with nature. Over the years, as their civilization evolved and as they started to unlock the secrets of the universe by advancing their elemental techniques with science, they had unlocked the potential to rearrange chemicals to create brand-new elements and to potentially alter entire landscapes and terraform otherwise uninhabitable places by, for example, creating water out of rocks. The powerful and immortal Yulementals were about to set out to expand towards the stars. Unfortunately, though, they never managed to reach the stars.

Not long before their departure, a giant moon-sized object was headed on a collision course with their home world. All existing Yulementals gathered together and tried their best to use their powers to push the trajectory of the comet away, but unfortunately it was too fast and had too much mass; their collective powers had little effect on it. In a last-ditch effort to save their species, the Yulementals created a giant magical orb in which they had absorbed as much as possible of the terrain of the planet, and most, but not all, of the Yulementals went inside the orb in the last minute right before the impact.

The entire surface of the planet was completely destroyed; the once luscious and lively surface got turned into endless oceans of magma, and the orb that housed the Yulementals got swallowed deep into the crust and into the mantle of the planet. The Yulementals remained sealed away for nearly one billion years. After all this time, the planet recovered, and new life evolved on the surface of the planet, but the original Yulementals were completely forgotten by all.

The Yulementals who remained within the orb were too afraid to leave the embrace of their new prison, as they believed that the outside world was completely gone, the planet, including the entire universe, was no more, and they would live within the caves for all eternity. The powerful orb had some kind of sentience and had the desire to become all powerful; it wanted all the power and would try to absorb the abilities of the Yulementals since they were the only source of power. But the orb wanted more; it wanted to become one with the sun so that it could transform into an Aster.

To have a view of the outside world, the orb promised to give them a ticket to freedom by enhancing their elemental gem, but unfortunately for the orb, Yulementals were too afraid to leave, so the gem completely erased their individuality and turned the crested Yulementals into some kind of hive mind who serve the orb. One day, by accident, one of the crested Yulementals had been freed from the gem and managed to regain their true form. The lone Yulemental was the last one of his species and set on a quest to restore his species and to discover what had happened to them.
